How They Met:

Dustin and Sara shared a contemporary art history class at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Sara loved the class and sat in the front, oblivious to any of her classmates. Dustin didn't care for the class and spent most of his time looking at the back of Sara's ever-changing hair.

It wasn't until they ran into each other at the Creepy Crawl, a St. Louis dive bar, that Dustin worked up the courage to ask her his ever-so-popular pick up line, "So…How did you do on that Art History final?" After a short conversation Dustin left with a phone number and butterflies in his stomach. Sara still wasn't convinced he was old enough to even be in the bar.

Their first date was dinner at Brandt's, a small restaurant in the Delmar Loop. As they sat at a table by the window it started snowing. Their conversation went from art, to music, to their love of traveling. The neon lights from the bars outside lit up the falling snow and made it appear like falling stars. A perfect first date.

The Proposal:

Three and a half years after that snowy night at Brandt's, Dustin and Sara took a road trip to Dustin's parent's cottage in Québec. Sipping coffee on the porch they realized how nice it was to have such a relaxing vacation. Right then, Dustin dropped to one knee, revealed a ring and asked "Will you marry me?". Sara teared up as she whispered "of course".

A romantic stay at the Auberge du Vieux-Port in Montréal was a beautiful ending to the vacation. During their visit they frequented the street side cafés and shared French wine over dinner. Quel romantique!

Future Plans:

With their whole lives ahead of them, there is one thing they'd like to check off the list right away. In the spring of 2010 Dustin and Sara plan on securing work visas and moving to London, England, for a year. Sara will try to learn to love tea as much as lattes and Dustin will try to love rugby as much as hockey. We shall see…

While in London as well as upon their return, Dustin and Sara would like to continue to pursue their creative careers. Eventually, Dustin wants to start his own web and graphic design studio and Sara will continue to organize events that bring together the art and craft community with the general public.
